Pavement to curate ATP Festival

Pavement to curate ATP Festival

Tonight I’m rather excited by the news that Pavement are curating the ATP Festival next May, from 14th-16th May. Might get tickets on Friday, as soon they’re released. Or…. I might wait a week and find out who’s curating the other weekend, a week before. I imagine the one from 7th-9th May will either be a ATP vs The Fans type affair, or another 10th anniversary type affair. Anyone got any opinions?

Anyway, back to tonight. I indulged and played two songs from the new Micah P. Hinson covers album, because I think it’s rather good. To be honest, I could have played several tunes from this. This was the full list of tonight’s tunes:

Laura Gibson – Spirited
King Cannibal – Aragami Style
Richard Hawley – Don’t get hung up in your soul
Micah P Hinson – In The Pines
Tender Trap – Fireworks
Hudson Mohawke – FUSE
Fanfarlo – Ghosts
A Place To Bury Strangers – Keep Slipping Away
Anti-Pop Consortium – Volcano (Four Tet remix)
Pavement – Shady Lane
Port O’Brien – Sour Milk/Salt Water
HEALTH – Die Slow (Tobacco Remix)
Micah P Hinson – Are You Lonesome Tonight
The Feelies – The Good Earth

I heard a rumour that Carl “The Gresh” Gresham’s curating the other ATP week this year to celebrate his upcomming autobiography “Loads of people that I’ve met that you thought were dead” – here’s hoping for that long awaited Cannon and Ball reunion. “Showbiz!” as JP would say.
