A pair of true Gents

It was great to have Mark Heslop in the studio this week performing his new song celebrating the 30th anniversary of the City Gent.

The fanzine’s editor Mike Harrison was also our guest, chatting about its enduring appeal among Bradford City fans.

Don’t miss our special guest this week – Mark Heslop will be performing his new song marking the 30th anniversary of the City Gent fanzine.

Mark will be chatting about how he came up with the idea and also giving a live studio rendition on Bradford Beat.

Who’d have thought we’d be doing one Wembley preview show on Bradford Beat this season – let alone two?

This week’s show dips its toe back into the Wembley waters ahead of the play-off final with a couple of Bradford City songs.

Wembley Fever

Bradford Beat will be celebrating the Bantams’ appearance in the Capital One Cup Final with a special football-themed show.

There will be something by James and something by Hanson. Oh yes.

We also plan to play a couple of the several tracks written and recorded to mark the occasion – these include Cap One Story by Mark Heslop aka The Ginger Bantam and The Spirit of Bradford City by Simon Crabtree aka The Bradford City Food & Beverage Sub Committee.

The Wembley special will be broadcast on BCB 106.6FM from 8pm – 9pm on Thursday 21 February.
