The weekly programmes are designed to highlight EU issues and focus on stories from  European Union  perspective. BCB currently broadcasts the weekly Euranet UK  programme at 1pm on Thursday.

Creative Partnerships and other schools work

BCB has worked with many local schools, especially  through the Creative Partnerships scheme.

In particular we have worked extensively with St Stephens Primary, Bramhope Primary, Oakwood (Leeds), and Our Lady of Victories Primary School (OLV) as well as supporting schools to produce and present the monthly Creative Partnerships Radio Show on BCB 106.6FM

Children are actively involved in research, production and presentation of programmes and regularly conduct interviews on a range of subjects.

For example, children from OLV interviewed Lord Sebastian Coe on a recent visit to Cartwight Hall, while children from St Stephens Primary visited the House of Commons in London to interview their local MP Marsha Singh.

BCB has also worked with Thornton Grammar, Bowling Park Primary and OLV to develop radio studios in their own schools.

OLV has been designated as a School of Creativity. BCB is currrently working with OLV to develop creative methods of assessment as well as providing ongoing support to OLV staff and students to maximise the potential of the school radio.

Working wth BCB gives children hands on radio experience and develops many useful life skills, such as team work, questioning and social interaction as well as building confidence, raising aspirations and developing oracy skills.
