Henri is a born-and-bred 24 year old Bradfordian who still finds himself positively surprised by Bradford life.
“My own thirst for life is quenched by a diverse range of activities and pleasures, including music, arts and culture,” he says, “whether I’m learning, performing or simply chatting, I strive to increase my versatility.”
He was classically trained in piano performance from the age of 10, graduating with a Leeds College of Music BTEC Extended Diploma with A* A* A. He plays piano with local band Fling, whose future in the music industry excites him. Like many classical pianists his favourite composer is Chopin and he plays a couple of his polonaises and nocturnes. He also enjoys reading literature, namely Oscar Wilde, although his favourite quote is probably from Shakespeare’s King Richard The Third, ‘And thus I clothe my naked villainy with old odd ends stolen forth from holy writ and seem a saint when most I play the devil’.
“Bradford is a wonderful hotpot brewing with hidden gems, eccentricity and charisma. We’re resilient to the bad press we get, and I am personally very proud to be involved in the city.”
