Ian Greenwood Remembered

Former Leader of Bradford Metropolitan Council , and sitting Councillor Ian Greenwood, sadly passed away on Monday 13 November 2018 after a short illness at the age of 68 years

Ian was an important part of the city for many, many years and is paid tribute to here by his colleagues on the council, Susan Hinchcliffe, the current leader of the council; Councilor Simon Cooke, the former leader of the Conservatives on the council; Councillor Vanda Greenwood; and Imran Hussain MP, his former deputy leader of the council. Tributes are paid to him from the trade union and anti-fascist movements by Bill Adams, from the regional TUC, and Paul Meszaros, from “Hope Not Hate”. Along with Si Cunningham from the Civic Society and Julie Pryke who remembers her time working with him, when she was a community worker. His close friends, Rob Martin and Patrick Howley share their reminiscences too.

The final word goes to Ian, himself- an interview he did when he was standing for the Bolton and Undercliffe seat, the previous May.
