BCB Youth Radio Development Worker/Station Assistant

Daniel Carroll is BCB's Youth Radio Development  Worker. He works on a range of exciting youth radio projects, including supporting young people to run 'BCB Extra' the on-line youth radio station and magazine. Dan organises workshops and training for a wide range of young people, especially focusing on activities in the school holiday periods. He is currently working with young people from the Pupil Referral Unit- More 4 U project .

Dan also works as the BCB Station Assistant, carrying out a range of duties to support the work of the Broadcast Manager. Dan also trains and support people and you can listen to him early morning on BCB Breakfast show- Monday, Tuesday  and Friday   - and late night Friday on Midnight Sessions.

BCB Station Engineer

Griff is the BCB Station Engineer. His main role is to  ensure that the radio station remains 'on air' at all times, and that the studios and recording equipment are all in working order for everyone to use. He is often the recipient of an emergency phone call from other BCB personnel, picking his brains on a range of issues from limiters to lightbulbs! You can also find him broadcasting from his Magic Theatre on a Wednesday evening at 10pm on BCB106.6FM....

BCB Reception /Admin Assistant

Katherine Canoville works part time at BCB, currently two days a week .Katherine works alongside Katie to arrange interview guests for BCB programmes, as well as ensuring  that people get a warm welcome from BCB -  whether in person or on the phone. She is also the queen of Friday's Drive programme and Saturday nights' s Global Meltdown on BCB 106.6FM.

BCB Production Assistant

Katie Jennings is the BCB Production Assistant. Katie is most often the first point of contact for people getting in touch with BCB, answering the telephone, responding to emails and letting people into the building. She books many of the guests who appear as interviewees on BCB106.6FM, as well as carrying out a wide range of admin duties, inclduding organsising the BCB membership scheme. She also meets and greets the visitors to BCB, particularly making sure that intervewees are in the right studio -  and on the right show!

BCB Management Committee

BCB has a strong and committed voluntary Management Committee (usually referred to as 'Mancom') . The Management Committtee is elected by and from the BCB membership at the BCB AGM and has overall responsibility for the management of the organisation. 

 The Management Committee is composed of the following  people:

BCB Finance Administrator

Janice Weale is BCB's Finance Administrator (very part time). Janice is responsible for taking care of the financial sytstems at BCB, ensuring that all our finances are in order and, very importantly, that the bills get paid.

BCB Director

Mary Dowson is the Director of BCB. She was one of the co-founders of the station and  has been with BCB since the very start.. Mary heads up the staff team and is responsible for the overall running of the radio station, managing a range of projects and working with the BCB Management Committee to provide strategic direction for the organisation.

Over the last five years she has been very active in BCB's Creative Partnerships work in schools. She also oversees the annual Radio Venus women's radio broadcast on BCB106.6FM for International Women's Day.She is a member of the Sony Radio Awards committee and in 2011 has served as a judge for the Sony Radio Awards and the Radio Academy Production Awards.
