BCB Wins Award!

BCB106.6FM has been awarded the Radio Academy Nations and Regions Yorkshire and Humber radio station of the year for 2013. We were presented with the award at a ceremony in Leeds on December 19th.

The Chair of Judges said:
“Capturing the heartache and joy of life in its area, BCB punches well above its weight with passionate programming that handles its subject matter with respect and integrity. It clearly loves broadcasting to Bradford and delivers a product that the city can be proud of. The station sounded celebratory about the people and place that it serves – exactly how community radio should sound. You can clearly hear how this station has taken the time to genuinely integrate itself within the community. It feels totally at one with its audience.”

Grow Your Own Way

How to grow anything and everything, indoors and outdoors in Bradford.

Recorded on their allotments, or in the greenhouse if it's raining. Growing in backyards, pots and indoors too, including 'Plant of the week', what's to be done throughout the week and answering listeners' questions.

This week on Grow your own way Sarah finishes quizzing Martin about beneficial mini beasts and insects in the garden. We learn that Wasps can even be a gardeners friend and how to make a simple bug hotel. Martin also shares information about the Winter Box shrub, an evergreen shade lover that flowers at Christmas time to bring some cheer.
