Xmas BuffetAnd we are hosting a Christmas special at The Record Club on Saturday 6th December – three full albums, a pop quiz (with prizes) and lots of punk rock atheism. Get your glad rags on and join us! It’s just £3 on the door and proceeds are being donated to Keswick Mountain Rescue.

We are back on 28th December at 7pm, but keep your eyes and ears open as we are hoping to squeeze in a “Little Buffet” with little people over the Festive period.

Snogs!

Buffet #32

Hello hello!

Hope you enjoyed our show.  After Jenny Jet got us pondering the metal gene, I’ve decided I do have it after all. And it sits quite comfortably with my love of Tijuana brass and disco.

And a little note for anyone intrigued by Lawrence of Denim, Felt, etc – a film has been made about him by Paul Kelly of Saint Etienne – Lawrence of Belgravia. http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2011/oct/20/lawrence-of-belgravia A must-see for anyone curious about one of music’s genuine eccentrics.

Here’s what we played!

1. Mike Sammes Singers – Westminster Bank advert
2. Field Music – A New Town
3. Cate Le Bon – Puts Me To Work
4. Yoofs – Nothing
5. That Fucking Tank – TFT
6. Luke Haines – Big Daddy Got A Casio VL Tone
7. Denim – The Osmonds
8. Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg – 69 Annee Erotique
9. tUnE yArDs – Bizness
10. Nisennenmondai – Soundtrack 4 For Nobetsumakunashi
11. Kurt Vile – Losing Momentum
12. Rozi Plane – Humans
13. The Fall – Touch Sensitive
14. Queen Kwong – Bitter LIps
15. Laura J Martin – Doki Doki

Later!

Radio Buffet #13

Firstly, apologies for going on and on about my bras. Though I like to think we at Buffet offer an element of public service broadcasting, and of myself as a twisted Miriam Stoppard. Next month = tampons.

Secondly, here’s what we played on Radio Buffet on Sat 11th Sept (repeated on Monday 13th at 10am)…

Theme from Starsky & Hutch
Blondie – X-Offender
Casiotone for the Painfully Alone – Hot Boys
The Libertines – Campaign of Hate
Sufjan Stevens – From the Mouth of Gabriel
Anibal Velazquez – Mambo Loco
Duchess Says – La Friche
Death From Above 1979 – Sexy Results
Nadine Shah – All That I Want
David Soul – Ex Lover (rubbish!)
Thin Lizzy – The Boys Are Back In Town
Magic Arm – Bootsy Bootsy
Arctic Monkeys – Mardy Bum
Girls Aloud – Biology
Cate Le Bon – Me Oh My

And our background music came courtesy of James Last’s Hansimania. And you may have also heard the intro from Spinning Wheel, as performed by Harry Stoneham playing the Hammond My Way.
