Marie McCahery

Marie presents The Guide on Tuesdays, and Vintage Spotlight, about the vintage scene in West Yorkshire, playing vintage dance music – jive, lindyhop, shag and balboa – with info and interviews on events and dance classes.

She also presents a show on alternative economics called Why Don’t Economists?.. always the first question of the people she interviews, all questioning the narrowness of the current economic paradigm.

She likes dressing up and going out to 40s and 50s dances and is interested in everything vintage, particularly all types of swing dancing, vintage dance music and vintage cars.

Another major interest is alternative economics, and she is the co-ordinator of Bradford Positive Money. She keeps up with many critiques of the current way of thinking on economics and better ways of organising the economy as if humans (and the environment) mattered.
