Tipping Point

Tipping Point is a radio programme that wanders close to the edge but only falls over occasionally. It plays music that wanders freely, crossing genres, continents and times, although it has a soft spot for modern jazz.

It tries to find links between performers, styles and themes so each programme can take listeners on a kind of journey.

Music, arts & culture

After the last programme’s focus on Melt Yourself Down, we turn a bit of our attention to ex-MYD drummer Tom Skinner and the new LP he’s justput out in his Wildflower trio. This starts a bit of wander down the garden path with another Wildflower band, this time a sextet;Skinner’s prolific colleagues in their group Ill Considered; tracks by Duke Ellington and Wayne Shorter as well as some vintage African electronica and a few oddities.
