We use IWD as a catalyst for getting new women and girls involved with BCB, as well as a focus for women to work together on new programmes. So with this in mind we are holding the first Women’s Radio workshop/planning meeting/training session on Saturday 19th January at 11am.

After this they will be held on the days below. Future sessions will be arranged to suit everyone’s availability and needs.

IWD Workshop Dates
Thursdays at 2pm – 4pm between now and March 8th
Saturday, 26 Jan, 11am – 1pm
Saturday, 2 Feb, 11am – 1pm
Saturday, 23 Feb, 11am – 1pm
Saturday, 2 Mar, 11am – 1pm
Pre-recording Programmes
Saturday, 2 March, all day!

The workshops will be a mixture of hands on radio skills training ( using the studio, digital editing, interviewing, presenting and producing programmes, writing for radio ) as well as programme planning.

There are many ways to be involved! Here are some ideas to think about.

Do you want to present or co- present a programme?
Is there an issue that you want to cover/ include in the programming on the day?
Is there someone you want to invite in to be interviewed?
Are you available to be at BCB on Friday 8th?
Could you report from an event?

Please get in contact with any ideas that you have – we’re really happy to support you wherever we can!

All women and girls are very welcome so do tell your friends. No experience necessary – just the ability to have fun!

If you cannot make it on these dates and are interested in getting involved, please let Mary or Julie know.

Get in touch with julie.longden@bcbradio.co.uk or mary.dowson@bcbradio.co.uk.
