BCB has a small staff team who support over 200 volunteer presenters to broadcast on BCB Radio.

MaryDowson Mary DowsonDirector Mary is the Director and co-founder of BCB. Before radio took over her life, she had a background in youth work, community engagement, and education which has largely informed the development of BCB as a community organisation using radio as a tool for empowerment. She is responsible for the strategic direction of the organisation – and occasionally gets to broadcast too! JonathanPinfield Jonathan PinfieldBroadcast Manager Jonathan is BCB’s Broadcast Manager and Head of Sport. When he’s not in the office you can usually find him broadcasting at a cricket match or boxing bout. Griff GriffBroadcast Engineer Griff has years of experience patching together the broadcasting equipment at BCB and making sure all of it works, 24 hours a day seven days a week. KathCanoville Kath CanovilleAdmin / Production Assistant Kath has been involved with music for over 30 years, having launched Nation Records in 1988 and managed Talvin Singh, who won the Mercury Music Prize in 2000, amongst other critically acclaimed international artists. JoKenyon Jo KenyonAdmin / Production Assistant Jo started doing her own radio shows at the age of 13, and went on to university and gained a degree in Business Management with Radio Production. She loves 90s music (girl power!) and adores musicals! JosephEmmett Joseph EmmettAdmin / Production Assistant Joe is BCB’s Admin and Office Support worker which means he is involved with supporting BCB’s volunteers, the production of About Bradford and Drive as well as co-ordinating BCB’s social media. Joe has been with BCB for four years and when not at work can be found promoting DIY gigs across Bradford and Leeds under the name of Basement Scene.
