My friend David Paterson, who grew up near Halifax, like me, writes:
“I’m trying to put together a small web site about the club called Clarence’s aka Roxy in Halifax – here’s the first page www.lilyfogg.com If you’ve got any memories or anything you could add it would be very much appreciated. A mention about it either in The Blowin Weekly Extra or on your show would be even more helpful.”

Amongst the bands who played there were Roxy Music, Pretty Things, Medicine Head, Gong, 101ers, Dr Feelgood, Osibisa and many more – see website. There’s an email link on the website, but David gets a lot of spam, so it may be useful to copy me in so I can pass the info on.

About Rob

Rob co-founded BCB with Mary Dowson, back when the hills were young and it were all flat caps an chappatis round 'ere. It was known as Bradford Festival Radio then, and thanks to the generosity of Dusty Rhodes we got started. Now he takes photos, puts little silver discs in drawers, mumbles into microphones, and walks on the hills. Keep On Blowin..

Always a pleasure to hear the mighty Fall on BCB, Rob – did you see them last Friday in Leeds?

Now then Phil – no, didn’t see them on Friday – saw them a couple of
years ago at the Irish Centre, around the time of Reformation, and they were great.
The Notorious Wig, a longterm Fall fan/sufferer, accompanied me to that gig, and said that he’d seen them 20 times and that was one of the best gigs.
He also said that 18 of the other 20 gigs were s**t, so I didn’t have
    great expectations for last Friday.
