We’ve got an exciting week coming up at BCB, starting tomorrow where we continue our work with the National Science and Media Museum as part of their Sound and Vision project. Some of you will know that we’ve been working with the museum about our place as part of their new permanent galleries which will open in 2025, but every month volunteers from the project create a 30 minute radio programme. The programme takes a look behind the scenes of the Sound and Vision project by chatting with some of the museum staff involved about the work they are doing and also bringing you the latest news from the National Science and Media Museum. You can hear this month’s show on Wednesday 15th May 6-6:30pm.
Over the past few weeks we’ve been working with students from the Bradford Citizens to make radio programmes about the issues that matter to them. Previous shows have covered topics like racism, but this week pupils from Belle Vue Girls’ Academy looking at mental health for mental health awareness week and how they can support each as Wellbeing Ambassadors. You can hear this month’s show on Wednesday 15th May 6:30-7pm. Finally we’ll be continuing our work with Rainbow Academy. This week we’ll be at the academy, rather than the pupils coming to BCB, to record at their academy library for National Share a Story Month.
BCB will be supporting young people from diverse communities and backgrounds in Bradford to create radio. Find our more about our Youth Music project.
As a part of a recent exhibition at the Science and Media Museum, our BCB volunteers were invited to talk about their lives and the various ways BCB has played a part in them.
